Synopsis

Somewhere Called Now follows four wildly unprepared college students who, on a whim, place an online ad pretending to be a professional espionage team. Led by their eccentric mastermind Frank Brise, the group’s plan is simple: fake confidence, earn quick money, survive the semester.

But the plan backfires spectacularly.

Their “services” catch the attention of a real international terrorist organization, who kidnaps and blackmails them into cooperating. Suddenly the four Savannahians find themselves on a covert mission through North Korea—fumbling their way through danger, politics, and secrets far beyond their pay grade.

What they discover is bigger than anything they imagined: a time-displacement device, created by corrupt generals hoping to travel into the past and conquer history using modern technology.

In a twist of chaos, the students accidentally activate the machine, catapulting themselves and the device into different moments in time. Armed with only the inventor’s notes and a laptop as their interface, they have no choice but to navigate the past, survive unexpected encounters, and piece together the truth behind the machine.

Their journey becomes a wild mix of adventure, dark humor, and bizarre lessons in human nature… proving that sometimes, what’s old really is new again.
